Two quick polls as I run out the door to class:
* The latest Gallup poll shows a big national Obama surge, bringing him to just six points down. (Edwards was at 12% in this poll, which obviously throws everything into question.) Clinton had a 13 point lead last week and a 20 point lead on January 18-20.
* Even better: the San Francisco Chronicle's daily tracking poll had Obama up 3%, 35-32, on both Sunday and Monday. A California win still seems unlikely, but it would be a huge upset.
I know some of you don't put much stock in these sorts of polls, and honestly I don't either—but I think they are helpful in identifying momentum and trends. Right now, Barack definitely seems to have the wind at his back.
