In the first day of the Minnesota recount, Al Franken gained 41 votes on Norm Coleman in "unchallenged" ballots, with 18% of the total ballots recounted. That puts Franken on pace to overtake Coleman if every day is approximately like today—but as TPM sourly notes, there's no reason to assume that will be the case.
