A deadlocked jury failed to reach a verdict Monday in
the case of a girl accused of assaulting a police officer after officers allegedly mistook her for a prostitute. That's right, a jury was unable to determine whether or not a twelve-year-old girl should be found guilty of "assaulting" three plainclothes police officers
who beat her so badly she needed to be hospitalized while attempting to pull her into an unmarked van. Discussion at
MeFi. There are not words enough in the English language to describe how screwed up this is.
