The only news this morning is the assassination of Pakistan's Benazir Bhutto, an opposition leader who in 1988 was the first woman elected as head of state in a modern Islamic nation and who had returned to Pakistan after an eight-year exile only a few weeks ago. MetaFilter has an ongoing thread; I find there and Wikipedia are still the best places to go for up-to-the-minute information on breaking news like this.
