It looks like Asteroid Apophis will miss us in 2029—but its close path to Earth will alter its usual trajectory such that it could hit us on its next approach in 2036. NASA said the odds were only 1 in 45,000, but a 13-year-old German wunderkind has demonstrated that it's actually 1 in 450. Via MeFi.
